Samuel 1:27

Wow! What a powerful statement: “For this child I have prayed.” Prayer is something many people only do in the midst of struggle or when they are happy. Derek and I are learning this is more than just praying on occasion but making it a daily part of our walk and life. We pray for this child that God will bring into our lives and are excited to add that the Lord has granted our petition! Waiting can be tough, but the promise that this petition will be granted is such a comfort to us.

Do you know this can be a comfort and a peace in your life?

Not just for a child but anything you ask! God gives three answers to our request: yes, no and wait. We are waiting with anticipation and excitement to say, “for the Lord has granted me my petition.”

It is as easy as breathing to just talk to the Lord, and I find myself doing it in the most unusual places. What an amazing thing to have Him waiting for us to ask of Him!Abd, not just ask but to talk to Him! You may say that you do not have the words to say, but in the darkest and most troublesome times, He knows your heart.

All you have to do is cry out to Him.

This scripture is based on a woman who was so desperately crying out for a child that the priest thought she was drunk!  But, he said to her, “This thing you ask will be given to you.”

For this child I have prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made Him. – 1 Samuel 1:27, ESV
